Privacy Policy
What we collect, and what we do not.
An enquiry is the only thing this site asks you for, and this page says exactly what happens to it. There is no analytics, no tracking and no cookie set on visitors.

Who we are
AL1 AUTO PTY LTD (ACN 696 895 673), trading as AL1 AUTO, of Melbourne, VIC, Australia, is responsible for the personal information described here.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your company name, your name and your email address, and - only if you choose to provide them - your phone number, your state and what kind of trade buyer you are. We also collect the parts you describe or select.
That is the whole of it. We do not ask for payment card details through this website, we do not collect date of birth, residential address or identity documents, and there is no account to create.
What we do not do
This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no third-party tracking of any kind. It loads no external fonts and no third-party content.
It sets no cookies on visitors. The only cookies issued here belong to the staff CMS - a sign-in session and a language preference - and a visitor to the public site never receives them.
The parts you add to a quote list are held in your own browser's storage so the list survives a page refresh. That stays on your device and reaches us only if you submit the enquiry.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing you did not ask for.
Why we collect it, and who sees it
We use your enquiry to identify the part, price it, and come back to you, which is the service you came here for.
Sourcing means asking suppliers and factories in China to identify and price a part, so the part requirement and the vehicle details are shared with them. We share what a supplier needs in order to quote, not your contact details, unless a shipment has to be addressed to you.
Our email is delivered through a third-party relay, which necessarily handles the message carrying your enquiry. Beyond that we disclose personal information only where the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted in Sydney, Australia. Access is limited to our staff through a password-protected CMS with time-limited sessions.
The suppliers we contact are in China, so information shared with them for sourcing is handled overseas.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry while it is active, and while any resulting order is being fulfilled and supported under warranty.
After that the record is kept for five years, matching Australian business record-keeping requirements. Enquiries that never lead to an order are removed sooner, once they are clearly closed.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing sales@al1auto.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to confirm who you are first.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy question, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
Enquiries travel over HTTPS. The staff CMS requires a password, limits sign-in attempts, and expires sessions after eight hours.
No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Changes
We update this policy when what we do changes. The date above is when it last changed, and material changes are noted on this page rather than made quietly.
