Frequently asked questions
How sourcing with AL1 AUTO works.
Answers on sourcing, pricing, delivery and warranty. Anything specific to your parts is confirmed on the quote before you commit.
Sourcing
- Can you source rare or new model parts?
- Yes, that is one of our specialties. We cover parts for the Chinese brands now selling in Australia, including EV and hybrid models where local aftermarket supply has not caught up, as well as discontinued lines.
- Do you have a searchable parts database?
- Not at launch. Most orders begin with a parts enquiry: send the part name, OEM number or vehicle details and we identify the part and come back with a price.
- What information do you need from me?
- Whatever you have. An OEM number is fastest, but the make, model, year and a description of the part is usually enough for us to identify it. A photo helps for anything unusual.
- What if you cannot find the part?
- We tell you, rather than substituting something that may not fit. If a suitable equivalent exists we will offer it as an option and say clearly that it is an equivalent.
Pricing and payment
- Do you charge margin on shipping?
- No. Shipping is passed through at cost and shown as a separate line on the quote. Our margin is on the part.
- What does a quote include?
- The identified part, its unit price, the freight cost shown separately, and an estimated lead time. There are no hidden fees added later.
- What are your payment terms?
- Quotes are issued as a proforma invoice in AUD. New accounts pay a deposit to begin sourcing with the balance due before dispatch. Account terms are available to established trade customers on request.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No minimum for most parts, and a single hard-to-find item is a normal order. Where a factory sets its own minimum for a line we state it in the quote before you commit.
Delivery
- How long does an order take?
- Most orders arrive in around one month, depending on the supplier and the part. Urgent or small items can move by air freight at a higher freight cost. Every quote carries its own estimate.
- How are parts shipped?
- Consolidated sea freight by default, air freight when you need it sooner. Parts are shipped to Australia and delivered to your business.
Warranty and returns
- What warranty applies?
- 12 months from delivery, or the manufacturer's warranty where that is longer, subject to correct application and fitment. Wear items, consumables and damage from incorrect fitting are excluded.
- What if a part is wrong or arrives damaged?
- Tell us within 7 days of delivery and we replace or refund it. Parts are sourced to order, so change-of-mind returns are considered case by case and may carry a restocking cost. Ask for a return authorisation before sending anything back.
- Are parts compliant for Australian use?
- Parts are supplied for the Australian market and we confirm what we know about a part's compliance status when we quote it. Confirming that a part suits the specific vehicle and its intended use remains the buyer's responsibility. Nothing limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Working with us
- Do you offer local support?
- Yes. AL1 AUTO is an Australian company based in Melbourne, and you deal with an Australian-based team rather than an overseas call centre.
- Who do you supply?
- Workshops, dealers, repairers, importers and resellers. We are a trade supplier, so there is no cart checkout and no public retail pricing.
